In 1965 the first version of the Wharfedale Linton appeared on the market, a groundbreaking design that has fascinated many music lovers. The original Linton versions from the 50s and XNUMXs were known for their rich and natural sound quality. More than XNUMX years later, the Linton has received a worthy successor that retains its original characteristics, but improves in performance in every area.
The Linton Heritage is a 3-way bookshelf speaker that takes advantage of its wide sound box by mounting a large woofer with a 200mm Kevlar cone on a rigid die-cast chassis. Above that is a 135mm midrange, also with a woven Kevlar cone, in its own internal housing. Finally, a 25mm cloth dome tweeter with a high quality ferrite magnet takes care of the high frequencies. A finely tuned crossover ensures smooth sound transitions between these drivers, providing a comfortable listening experience both on and off-axis.
The speakers should be placed so that the tweeters are approximately ear height of a seated listener. The speakers can then be placed at an angle of approximately 30° to create an ideal sweet spot.
