Characteristics
With remarkable sound pressure levels, the SW-12 subwoofer retains sufficient control to keep the resulting sound at an excellent quality level. Just like any model from the series, amplifier modules, filter stages and revolutionary drive units, contains the subwoofer, which are combined to create a balanced sound.
The subwoofer cone of the SW-12 is newly developed to improve the structure, and is formed from non-pressed paper for more self-damping and a better transient impact and internal aid to increase the structural rigidity of the cone. The SW-12 contains with copper-covered middle opening to reduce the magnetic distortion and remove any heat.
The Wharfedale SW-12 subwoofer is firmly built to handle the low frequencies and is optimized for high impact low frequencies. The subwoofer adds an exciting depth to any filmmaker experience, and also ensures a thumping low level of your music.
Technology
They find the perfect balance between strength and sound quality and offer remarkable sound pressure levels, while still retaining sufficient control to be considered in quality as an audiophile. The new SW-SUBWOOFERS series is equipped with a large number of new functions.
They are now supplied with non-pressed paper cones for more self-damping, an improved transient impact and an internally increased structural stiffness of the cone itself. The middle opening are coated with copper to reduce the magnetic distortion and to improve heat dissipation.
The addition of a subwoofer adds weight and authority to any stereo system, so that the frequency response is expanded much further than with conventional bass drivers. All SW models offer a phase adjustment for the additional adjustment of the sound.
With Wharfedale subwoofers, the built-in amplifiers are designed to give a powerful response to these frequencies, while a continuous variable crossover provides seamless integration with the other speakers in the system.
Design
Still using the solid, well-designed power amplifiers, SW subwoofers are optimized for a high impact at low frequencies and are ideal for movies or music. With the different finishes of the cabinets - White Sandex and Blackwood Vinyl with high-gloss baffle - these subwoofers look great with matching floor standing speakers.
