In 1965 the first version of Wharfedale's Linton was on the market. A groundbreaking design that managed to bind large crowd music lovers. Now more than fifty years later, the Linton got a worthy successor in the Linton85. Adapted to the current state of the art and provided with the most modern components. Characteristics

The Wharfedale Linton represents one of the most iconic models in the long history of the Wharfedal speakers. A model that the Wharfedale pioneering research embodied by the 1960s, '70 and '80, with a bloodline that goes back to 1965, Linton is always manufactured according to the wharfedal principles of quality and value for money.

Technology

The Wharfedale Linton is a three-way bookshelf speaker with a 1" textile soft-dome tweeter, a 5" woven Kevelar midrange driver and an 8" woven kevlar bass woofer for a warm, rich and natural sound. Fine-appointment crossovers guarantee a smooth transition between The tweeter, midrange and woofer with a pleasant audible experience, both on and outside the axis.

1 "Tweeter: High frequencies are treated by a 1" woven textile soft-dome tweeter with high flux ferrite magnet, designed for a smooth, detailed high frequency expansion.
5 "Middle range: The 5" Midrange Driver is equipped with wharfedale's innovative woven kevlar mounted on a stiff poured chassis for clear, clean midrange frequencies.
8 "Woofer: The 8" woofer is also equipped with wharfedale's innovative woven kevlar cone mounted on a stiff poured chassis for a deep, accurate bass output with excellent dynamic performance.

Design

The original Linton was known for its warm, rich and naturally sounding character and the new Wharfedale Linton loves that standing but steeped with an open, detailed version that will seduce you to explore your entire music collection, again.

The Linton Heritage is a three-way bass reflex design with an 8" woven-kevlar woofer, a 5" woven-kevlar midrange, and a 1" soft-dome tweeter. The rear cabinet is made of veneered chipboard / mdf - the front baffle is black Painted - and is 22.25" high at 11.8" wide at 13" deep, weighing 40.5 lb.

Placement

The speakers must be placed in such a way that the bemons are approximately at an ear height of a seated listener.

The speakers can be "stripped" or in an angle (up to 30°) in the headlayper position to control the sound image or the "Sweet Spot".
